We welcome school systems, libraries, non-profit organizations, visitors centers, museums, and many others to purchase our video programs and other materials such as photographs and maps. However, there are rules pertaining to usage that you should be aware of. Please read carefully. Copyright infringement is very serious.

USE OF OUR TEXT AND PHOTOS FOR PROMOTION OF YOUR OWN POSITION OR AGENDA

Our text and photos are copyrighted, plain and simple. We do not want to be quoted in order to promote other people's or organizations' stands on current topics, political viewpoints, soapboxes, or to round out articles needing references by activist groups. If you would like to quote CoveBear, ask permission via email. Without written permission to quote us in your book or public article, you would be participating in copyright infringement by doing so.

USE OF OUR GRAPHICS / MAPS / AUDIO FILES / CD MATERIALS

All of our materials are copyrighted, and the materials contained on our CDs are no exception. The CDs under Teachers Resources contain many things, that if you purchased the CD, you have the right to use and show your class or your library visitors. However, if you want to enlarge the photos of graphics, maps, and use other things, for display or use in a public place, you will need to purchase the CD plus purchase the license to exhibit. Please read the details on that page.

USE OF OUR VIDEOS IN SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES

Video programs created by Kate Marshall Graphics, Inc. to be used in schools and libraries for showing to small groups of students, must be purchased directly from Kate Marshall Graphics, Inc. and not from a retail store. At the time of ordering, please send us an email letting us know the name of the school or library. All video programs to be used in schools and libraries must be kept in their original copyrighted package. The DVD may not have any labels added to the disc itself, because it will become unbalanced and not play properly. The copyright notice may not be obscured either on the disc or any labels or covers. Our website and company name may not be obscured on the cover or the disc. Our packaging is copyrighted along with our product and may not be altered. Please observe International and United States Copyright Laws by not making copies of our programs to distribute, use or sell. Items should be always be purchased separately. A school system may circulate one purchased item to each location, or may purchase an item for each location; however, they may not purchase one item, make copies, and circulate those unauthorized copies to each location. There is never an instance when a copy of our products may be made legally, without our permission. A library or school may purchase our videos at the regular retail price - we do not charge an additional fee for libraries or schools, as other companies sometimes do. Libraries and teachers do not need to purchase an additional licensing fee for public exhibition of DVDs.

PUBLIC SHOWING OF OUR VIDEOS

Our video programs may be shown in a school classroom to a small group of students as part of a class. However, they may not be shown to the public by any other facility or organization, or as part of an advertised presentation with or without a speaker, or as part of an organized event or show, or as an offering to the general public in any situation without our express written permission. A Public Exhibition Permit may be issued if requested, and often is issued for use in park visitors centers and natural history museums, with our permission. Depending on the situation, there may be a permit fee. Additionally, our programs may not be shown in any public setting unless they are available for purchase by the public at the same facility, without our express written permission. No portion of our programs or stock footage may be shown to the public without our knowledge, and without a written permit issued by Kate Marshall Graphics, Inc. There is usually no charge to libraries and small classroom teachers for showing to small groups of students. However, all other facilities and event coordinators would need to obtain permission and a permit. The fact that you may be an educational facility or offering an educational event, or that you may be a non-profit organization, would not exempt you from obtaining a Public Exhibition Permit to show any of our video to the public. If you do so, that would constitute copyright infringement, and this could result in fines and penalties. Finally, any advertising or promotional materials that announce the showing of any of our videos to the public, must be worded in this manner:

"- - (the title of the DVD here) - - (Awards listed here) - - Produced by Kate Marshall Graphics, Inc., www.CoveBear.com"

We may also be available to give a short talk about bears before the showing of the film with Q&A afterward. Please contact us for bear presentation fees, or a negotiable alternative.

VIDEO STOCK FOOTAGE

Purchase of stock footage carries its own terms, and this purchase must meet all terms, including our permission for the stock to be shown in a certain manner, and also the agreement that a copy of the finished program containing our stock footage will be shipped to us immediately after completion. Please see our section about stock video footage for more details. None of our copyrighted materials, such as VHS, DVD, photographs, stock, art, text, plaques, and other items may be copied unless the item is permitted by KMG to be copied and/or used.

LINKING TO OUR WEBSITE

Would you like to link to us from your website and insert a JPEG of our BEAR DVDs? YES, you may copy the cover of one of our DVDs for the purpose of advertisement for our products, for use in your printed materials or on your website, without permission. We would, however, like to receive a notice via email and receive a copy of print. You may NOT link to our website by BORROWING one of our copyright photos to use under the link. If you would like to link to our website, please link with a bear DVD cover, or else use simply a text hyperlink. Our web link is www.covebear.com. We appreciate all links but we do need to protect the time and effort and expense that we put into getting our photographs. Whenever you link to our website, we would appreciate that you please practice "Netiquette" and email us about it.

Certain designated photos on the website and certain designated text may printed or copied for educational viewing purposes only. However, they may not be included in other books, other websites, other articles or other programs, on any news or television broadcast or commercial, or in any commercial venture.

Possible consequences to anyone found guilty of breaking the law by use of copyright infringement are confiscation of the product and stiff penalties including very expensive fines, court costs, attorney fees, and jail time. Adverse publicity will also arise due to agencies, companies, organizations, and private citizens participating in copyright infringement. Please do not take or use copyright materials. It is the law.

MAKING COPIES OF PROGRAMS AND DVD's, VIDEO FILE TRANSFER

Please be aware of the laws of Copyright as they pertain to protected music and photos. We are unable to make copies of anything that contains copyrighted music. Before you add your favorite popular music to any videotape you have made, please be aware of this rule. We are unable to make copies of any copyrighted theatrical movie, wildlife film, or television program, for the same reason.
